Grange-over-Sands is a charming small town situated on Morecambe Bay with immaculate public gardens, a wide choice of tea rooms, interesting shops and a mile-long mainly Victorian promenade. The town faces south-east and is sheltered by surrounding hills. It therefore has a warmer than expected local climate. Subtropical plants and trees grow and snow is rare in winter. The Lake District gems of Windermere and Coniston Water are only a few miles inland. There are several well reviewed hotels in and near Grange-over-Sands ranging from the luxury four to more economical two star hotels.
