Windermere Hotels


Windermere is a very popular and well known small tourist town with many Windermere Hotels, is a convenient base from which to explore the central Lakes area. It is easily accessed from the M6 and Kendal, approximately 9 miles distant. The town centre is inland and contains the areas railway station but the built area has linked up with that of Bowness-on-Windermere, an earlier settlement on the eastern lakeshore of Windermere the lake. The Windermere and Bowness area can boast some of the finest eating places in the Lake District. There is Windermere hotels accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets whether for a country house hotel with a view of the lake or an intimate b&b. There are many hotels in the two towns and a more around the shores of Windermere itself. They range from fine country houses with extensive grounds, through compact Victorian or Edwardian buildings to elegant small boutique hotels.
