Mealsgate B&B

Mealsgate is a small village situated on the old Roman Road between Carlisle and the Roman fort of Derventio at Papcastle, now known as the A595 (Whitehaven to Carlisle). Mealsgate was a stop on the Bolton Loop of the Maryport and Carlisle Railway and served the pit at Fletchertown. There are bed and breakfast establishments close to Mealsgate, also a camp site and hotels within a few miles.
