Holmrook CottagesTwo miles south of Ravenglass, Holmrook is a small village on the banks of the River Irt. The Cumbrian Cycle Way is two miles away. There are self catering cottages and properties formed by the subdivision of former stately home, Irton Hall. Although originally a 13th century building, the majority of the present buildings are only 150 to 200 years old. Nevertheless, it has a 1,000 year old oak tree in its grounds. There is a limited availability of other self catering accommodation in the area, including a caravan site between Holmrook and Gosforth. |
