The stone flagged floor and wood burning stove remind you that this is a country pub, but it is also so much more than this. With our carefully selected and extensive wine list there is something there for even the most refined of palates.

The food on offer, prepared by head chef - James Goodall, is a fusion of traditional pub fare and contemporary European cuisine. There are the old classics such as steak and ale pie and fish & chips as well as modern favourites such as the duo of Lakeland duck and our smoked salmon and haddock fishcakes.

We also offer a range of seven real ales and a traditional scrumpy; regulars include Yates Brewery’s range of beers and a selection of local ales from Coniston Brewery, Keswick and Cumbrian Legendary Ales to name but a few. Many others from Cornwall to Shetland ensure that there is always a varied range for most tastes.

Tweedies Bar has been awarded runner up for CAMRA Westmorland Branch Pub of the year for 2009.
