Frizington HotelsFFrizington was a collection of farms and houses which merged and became a village as a result of the mining (both coal and iron ore) in the 19th century. Mining ended in the early 1900s. The village is essentially one long street and has a small hotel, the Stork Hotel, and three pubs. Frizington has a population of around 3,000. It is four miles east of Whitehaven. In farming country, Frizington is close to Ennerdale Water, the most westerly of the lakes and to the Coast to Coast (C2C) cycleway.
