Egremont B&B

Egremont is a market town south of Whitehaven on the River Ehen. The remains of the Norman castle, built in the 12th century, are situated at the southern end of the wide Main Street near the Market Place. Egremont was granted a Charter for a market and annual fair in 1266. The town has an industrial history based on dying, weaving, iron ore mining and quarrying. Nowadays the economy is built on services, media and tourism, with the nuclear industry at Sellafield. There are two B&Bs (bed and breakfast establishments) in or near Egremont and one hotel/inn. Cleator is two miles away and Seascale and Whitehaven both six, for more choice of accommodation.
