Welcome to Black Horses Ltd, a family business dedicated to excellence. Based in the Lake District, we deliver the finest of service with magnificent carriages pulled by exquisite black Friesian horses. We can provide horse drawn carriage rides in the North West of England and in Cumbria.

We are passionate about the breed and are committed to our Frieisian breeding programme. We are looking forward to a new arrival from our foundation mare Femma L this summer.

WEDDINGS - Black Horses horse drawn carriages are the perfect way to arrive at your wedding – with our magnificent horses in front of your decorated carriage and your footmen in traditional livery attire, we are there to attend to your every need on your special day.

COUNTRY CARRIAGE RIDES - Our horses and carriages are also available for romantic drives in the Cartmel countryside. You could celebrate with a bottle of wine or champagne or take a luxury picnic hamper from Cartmel Village Shop.

New for 2011, we are offering you the unique Frieisan Experience where experienced riders can ride with us on our magnificent horses on the fells around Cartmel.
