Broughtin-in-Furness Cottages

Broughton-in-Furness is an unspoilt Georgian market town on the edge of both the Furness peninsula and the Lake District National Park area. It is close to the sea through the small town of Foxfield nearby, on the sandy Duddon estuary. It is 7 miles to Ulverston, 8.5 miles to Coniston and 11 miles to Barrow-in-Furness. Self-catering cottages are often found in groups on or attached to farms. In this area, a number of traditional cottages and other farm buildings, such as barns and hay lofts, have been converted into holiday cottages for rent by the week. Such cottages are more often found in the rural area than in the built up areas although within some towns terraced cottages and larger houses are also redesigned and furnished for the tourist market.
